WHY A WINEMAKING “ATELIER”?
The French word “atelier” is used to define places where art is performed and where inspiration lives. This can be applied either to painting, sculpture or “haute couture”.
Therefore we understand that is the most suitable term to call our winery where work is carried out to balance the latest state-of-the art in winemaking and traditional processes for the production of fine wines.
The Carrau family has been working on fine wines production on a continuous basis for ten generations since April 2, 1752. Such tradition started in “Vilasar de Mar” near Barcelona, Spain.
